EVOC Briefing Note Number 1 from Ella Simpson

As is well known, the funding that EVOC receives from City of Edinburgh Council has been reduced significantly from the first of April this year. We are therefore examining how we maintain valuable and valued services for the voluntary sector whilst at the same time adapting to a smaller budget. In doing so, we are taking the opportunity to review our organisational structure to ensure that EVOC makes the very best use of available resources, both financial and human, in supporting the voluntary sector.

This briefing note sets out how this will affect service delivery for our members and others and offers re-assurance for the future.

How long will the review take?

We hope to complete the review and the transition to a new structure by the end of June.

What does this mean for continuity of services

All our existing services will continue unchanged until a new structure is in place. Thereafter, some services may be delivered in a different way. A few of the things we do may be wound down as funding changes But we remain committed to ensuring that the sector has effective, professional and relevant support, especially when so many other organisations are also having to adapt to change and reduced funding.

Will my contact staff member at EVOC stay the same?

Not necessarily, but we will keep members and wider sector informed if any changes. We will ensure that where staff or remits change, there is an orderly transition.
