EVOT Grants for Individuals

Criteria for Applications

  1. Applications for financial assistance to individuals in need can only be accepted from a post holder in Local Authority Social Work, Hospital Social Work, Medical or Voluntary Sector Agencies as agreed with EVOT. Only one application on behalf of an individual will be considered in a twelve-month period.
  2. The application should be concise and specific as a recommendation from the post holder for a charitable grant that does not substitute for the possibility of a benefit or discretionary grant from a state agency, or for a grant from a financial source linked to the applicant agency. State the situation of the person, such as illness, number and ages of children, if any, and the requirement of need.
  3. Applications may be for any relevant and urgent need except for electrical items, white goods student fees or equipment, repayment of debt of any type, holidays anywhere except in special circumstances, e.g. where a holiday is arranged by a recognised charity. Priority will be given to applications where there is serious illness of the individual or in the family, which should be stated. Grants are normally under £200.
  4. Applications will normally be processed on a monthly basis, but due to the large number of applications received at EVOT receipt cannot be acknowledged.
Payments cannot be made direct to an individual, only to the applicant agency by the ROYLINE Computerised Banking System so that Bank account details are required on the application that must be signed.
  5. A form of receipt is forwarded with the notification of grant, if offered to the applicant, and this receipt should be returned within four weeks of receipt of grant. Any unpaid or unused portion of grant should be returned to EVOT within a three-month period of receipt by the agency, otherwise future applications may not be considered.
