Forums

We provide services and support to a number of forums, including the Community Care Alliance, Forum on Services for People with Learning Disabilities and the Forum on Services for Older People

Capacity building

We work with individual organisations, especially through periods of change or difficulty, to help them strengthen and develop their service. This work includes supporting staff, committees and service users. We actively promote good practice and user involvement

Representation and planning

We facilitate the involvement of local voluntary and community groups in shaping and responding to local and national policy in relation to health and social care through consultation and participation in planning structures. This includes supporting voluntary sector representatives and service users in making their views known.

Information
We have several regular mailings. Noticeboard is circulated EVOC member organisations and Memo is distributed to black and minority ethnic organisations in the city. Both are monthly. We also send out periodic briefing notes on topics of relevance to health and social care organisations

Supporting new developments

We provide guidance to new groups and partnerships looking to develop health and social care services or promote social inclusion
